Vision of Church

With the blessing and leading of the Lord, He has blessed the church to grow up and have members gather from many places. And we have a burden to together to continue to take His blessings to other henceforth. In the year 2007 the Board and members of the church agreed that we would move from our existing building to a new place, which the Christian Prison Ministry Foundation was construting, which has just been completed thes November. WE have the vision and faith that the Church of Blessing will be a place to proclaim the gospel to even more people, and be a center to facilitate life development, leading many people to experience new life in the love of God.

History of the (Baptist) Church of Blessing

Background

The Christian Prison Ministry in Thailan, being a member of the Thailand Baptist Convention, has conducted a ministry of evangelism and moral development for prisoners in various prisons for over thirty years. This ministry produced much fruit, each year seeing many prisoners turn their backs on their old ways and decide to begin a new life. Besides evangelism and training, we also set up many other activities in the prisons: conducting prison choirs, teaching, language, training for various occupations, and leading a program of prisoner pre-release training, for example. At the same time, we were assisting released prisoners by opening the House of Blessing halfway house to help and follow up released prisoners so that they could lead a productive, confident life in society.

Starting the Church

We were faced with many released prisoners, people having a need to begin a new life. They needed a community and a society that was ready to welcome them and give them the opportunity to begin again. Pastor Soonthorn and the prison ministry team prayed together, asking for God's leading for planting a church. It would serve as a place of initial opportunity for their new life under the sponsorship of the Christian Prison Ministry. The Lord led us to a five-story, three-unit storefront in a building on Viphavadee Road in the Phayathai district of Bangkok. So we decided to rent this building and start a church: on Sunday, October 5th, 2003 Pastor Soonthorn, the prison ministry team, and twelve former prisoners met together to worship God and participate in various activities.

The Growth of the Church

For the past five years, God has led us as we have served in this church, which we named the Church of Blessing. Released prisoners have come together for activities and received nurture in the development of their lives to do good and to be good. to this very day we have many released prisoners participating in activities with the church every Sunday.

ค่ายเยาวชนห่างไกลจากยาเสพติด

คริสตจักรพระพร ร่วมกับ มูลนิธิศุภนิมิต จัดค่ายเยาวชนห่างไกลเสพติด เมื่อวันที่ 6 มีนาคมที่ผ่านมา โดยมีรัฐมนตรีกระทรวงยุติธรรม ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานเิปิดงาน ซึ่งในงานนี้ ได้มีกิจกรรม ดนตรี และการให้ความรู้ ความเข้าใจแก่เด็กอายุตั้งแต่ 12-15 ปี ที่มีความเสี่ยงในการยุ่งเกี่ยวกับยาเสพติด
